The Antwi Industries Team has been selected as a subcontractor for the new U.S. Consulate building in Lagos, Nigeria. The U.S. State Dept. awarded the $319-million design-build contract to Pernix Federal LLC based in Lombard, IL for the new U.S. Consulate building. The project will be built on a 12.2-acre parcel, and is scheduled for completion in 2027.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the new consulate will also be built according to LEED Silver certification standards. As part of the burgeoning Eko Atlantic City on Victoria Island, the new campus will have access to sustainable, state-of-the-art infrastructure that will protect the development from coastal erosion and rising sea levels.

The project also will be an estimated $95 million boom for the local economy and will employ about 2,500 Nigerian engineers, architects, artisans, construction workers and administrative employees. U.S. officials said that the new consulate will provide local workers with the opportunity to learn new technical skills and safety procedures that will lead to future economic opportunities for them in the Lagos market.
